Marjorie E. Peterson, 1913-2003, Marshall

Marjorie Elizabeth Peterson, 90, of Marshall, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2003, at the Marshall Living Center.

She was born April 18, 1913, in the Herdon community in Saline County, a daughter of Will H. and Edith Riggins Malott. In 1932, in Herndon, she was married to R.O. Peterson, who died in March 1975.

Mrs. Peterson was a homemaker. She was interested in history and politics. She was a member of Smith Chapel United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Daughters of the American Revolution, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Women's Jefferson Democratic Club and Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are two sons, William A. Peterson and Robert W. Peterson, both of Marshall; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Alice Hutson.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Smith Chapel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Norma Marchand officiating. The body will be cremated.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the church or to the Hazel Grove Cemetery Association in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall.
